Who We Are

 

IPMS-St. Louis is a chartered chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society/USA.  We were founded by Bob Letterman in 1985 and currently have a membership of 20 modelers.  Membership in IPMS/USA is not required to attend meetings but is encouraged.  Membership dues are $10 per year, payable in June.  We like to refer to ourselves as just a bunch of people who like to have fun and enjoy the great hobby of plastic modeling!

 

We meet at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at The Thornhill Branch of the St. Louis County Library at 12863 Wolloyck Drive, which is located right off of Fee Fee Road, approximately 1 mile north of Olive Boulevard, directly across the street from Parkway North High School.  Our skill levels run from beginner to master modeler, and all levels in between!  Our modeling subjects are as varied as our skill levels and cover aircraft, armor, cars, sci-fi, ships, and figures.  Anyone is welcome to come to our meetings; please come join us!

 

National Membership

 

The chapter urges you to join the national organization, IPMS USA.  Adult membership fees are $25 for 1 year, $49 for 2 years, and $73 for 3 years.  Junior membership (17 and under) is $12 per year and the family membership fee is the respective adult membership fee plus $5.    

Your membership helps to support the national organization and your chapter, plus you get six issues of the IPMS/USA Journal with articles on all fields of modeling, kit reviews that give you an idea of what you're buying, upcoming contests, and information on what's happening at the national organization.  The biggest thing is that you are helping your own chapter.  At least five members are required to remain chartered as an IPMS chapter, and chapter officers must be national members.  Now, with the chapter rebate, you get $2 off your yearly dues when you flash that national membership card at the treasurer.  So it even pays to be a national member!
